Last meeting
At last week's meeting, Amanda Robichaud, Director and Chaplan at the Elgin St. Mission reminded Rotarians that 2020 was a triathlon for which we did not know we signed up and that tragedies and difficult times help evaluate what is important in our lives. Pre-covid the Elgin St, Mission served 100,000 meals a year and provided counselling and other services to clients going through difficult times. During Covid-19 the Elgin St. Mission in collaboration with community partners like Rotary Sunrisers found creative ways to continue meeting the needs of clients. Rotary Sunrisers' support through its Mission 31 Christmas campaign and other initiatives throughout the year is critical to the Mission continuing to be a positive change agent in our community.

Together we can make a difference and help others dream for a better future!

Event Updates

This year Mission 31 will be serving meals at the Elgin Street Mission and acquiring groceries and donations at Chris’s Independent. Please contact Lisa Lounsbury to arrange a time to serve at the Mission. Last Sunday our Rotary volunteers packed hundreds of bags destined for the Elgin Street Mission. Rotarians will be contributing their time from 3 – 6 pm for four days – Tuesday, December 1st through to Friday, December 4th at Chris’s to encourage customers to purchase our donation bags. Please contact Barb Roy to help out with the food donation.
Two more spots need to be filled for the Plasma Drive in December! Please contact Brandi Braithwaite to sign up for December 2nd.
The goal of selling over 400 boxes for Vive Le Vin has been reached! Numerous volunteers participated in the packing of the boxes and helping out during the pick up day. The event fundraising disbursement applications will be received until Friday, December 11th. Application forms have been sent by email to Rotarians. If you have a charity that you are directly involved with you can provide the form to the organization. If you have any questions, please contact Sandi Campbell.

Events need Rotarians to volunteer to be successful. We all pledge "Service Above Self".

For Rotarians that are able to come out to help please remember many hands make light work! If you have circumstances that prevent you from attending group settings during the pandemic you are encouraged to contact event coordinators. There may be other ways to help with events such as promotion, communications and planning.
