At last week's meeting, Steve Gravel, the Manager responsible for the new Centre for Smart Mining at Cambrian College provided Rotarians with an overview of its core services and innovative projects as an Technology Access Center ITAC), specializing in research and development in the mining industry. Rotarians also received an update on Vive le Vin in a Box, Mission 31 and an adapted Nutrition for the Mission. Together, these initiatives raised approximately 100K for our community. Despite a pandemic, Sunrisers put Service above Self into overdrive!

Backpack Basics will once again be providing much needed personal items for people in our community. Shannon Kenrick-Rochon will be providing further updates on this program that is soon to launch.
The rapid increase in examining and treating patients remotely because of stay-at-home orders has not only helped in the fight against the coronavirus; it has also prompted a conversation about what the future will look like. For patients who lack transportation options or who live in remote areas, a virtual visit can mean the difference between being able to consult a doctor and going without care. Rotarians are taking action to provide the training, equipment and internet access needed for this life saving technology.
