At the March 3rd meeting, Sudbury Sunrisers, met Hannah (left) from Sault Ste Marie, and Susie (right) from Sudbury, both students at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM).
They provided Rotarians with a glimpse into what motivated them to pursue studies, and a career in medicine, both clearly passionate about helping and being a witness to the highs and lows in people’s lives.
Both describe the unique and innovative curriculum at NOSM including the opportunity to work in smaller northern communities where residents do not have equitable access to resources and care.
Thank you for your undivided attention. The purpose of this very important communique is to announce that District 7010 has 22 packets of cash, each containing $2,000, that it intends to distribute to help fund service projects that occur during the 2022-2023 Rotary Year.
District leadership and volunteers have worked hard this last little while to make the process to claim one of those $2,000 packets quick and easy. Here’s all you have to do to initiate your claim:
1. Have these three topics placed on the agenda of the club’s board of directors’ meetings for this month, and April and May as well:
Service Project(s) for 2022-2023 – Outcome: Identify up to 3 simple, low cost potential service projects that can be completed not later than June 1, 2023
Club Rotary Foundation Committee Chair – Outcome: Identify and appoint someone to lead the Club’s Rotary Foundation Committee
District Grant Memorandum of Understanding – Outcome: Review and complete a memorandum of agreement with District 7010 [Note: a blank MOU is attached to this email], and
2. Have whomever is the champion for or has an idea about a club service project in 2022-2023 contact the undersigned and/or learn more about Rotary Foundation district grants at this link:
Act today and you’ll have the easiest time ever getting $2,000 from District 7010 to help fund a service project in your community or afar. I guarantee it!
