Weekly Updates
At last week’s Rotary meeting our very own Sunrisers, Barb and Brandi gave an overview of how some of the funds raised from our Vive le Vin In A Box campaign would support two very important initiatives.

The first, supporting the application, household and living expenses for a  Syrian family that fled the conflict in Syria to relocate to Canada.

The second, supporting 4 entrance bursaries offered at Cambrian College which directly support students who may not otherwise be able to afford to obtain post-secondary education at the College.
Both initiatives will significantly impact the lives of individuals in our community.

Wednesday Night Talk Show – How You Can Steal the Best of the Best

Join us on Wednesday February 2, from 6:00 – 7:00 for our next Wednesday Night Talk Show where this month we feature some of the work that our Great Ideas Committee has put together. They have gathered some great fundraising ideas from several clubs and will share with you the input received to date and demonstrate how you and your club can access this information.

imageFundraising in a Pandemic

In a pandemic, it is difficult to raise funds as we normally do. Fundraising is fundamental and allows us to do the work that we do in our community. Without fundraising, it slows down our ability to provide much needed programs which support all different kinds of people in our community.

For the first time, the Rotary Club of Bracebridge has taken its fundraising efforts online. It not only ensures the community's safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, it also makes it easy for supporters to purchase their tickets and hopefully increase the club's reach. Check out the club’s 50/50 Online Draw

World Community Service - Life4Kids Canada

Grace Doiron your District World Community Service Chair has been working with PDG Bill Hagborg to revamp the World Community Service page on our District website. It now features international service projects initiated by clubs in our District. One of projects is Life4Kids sponsored by the Rotary Club of Midland.

Fred Hacker of the Midland club is available to present to your club and share with you this excellent program.

Virtual Gala & Fundraiser

On February 23, 2022, our Zone is holding the second annual Celebration of the Rotary Foundation. It will be a fast paced 90-minute variety style show, with entertainers and some of the most talented leaders in Rotary.

Each Gala ticket includes a contribution of $100 USD to The Rotary Foundation, allocated 75% to the Annual Fund and 25% to PolioPlus. Your gift will be a fully credited donation to TRF - and you will receive a charitable tax receipt, and related Paul Harris Fellowship points. Click here to buy tickets

Last year we raised almost $200,000 USD for the Rotary Foundation with an estimated 2000+ participants from 39 of our 43 districts, and this year we will do even better!
