Weekly Updates

At last week's meeting, Stewart Dunn a senior geologist at Vale and his wife Allison, also a geologist answered questions about their experience moving their family from Australia to Sudbury for work.
Stewart and Allison shared both the positive and challenging aspects of this move which included Sudbury being very welcoming and friendly, enjoying the variation and the outdoor activities that come with the 4 seasons, and the lack of poisonous spiders and snakes.  The limitations in respect to healthcare, childcare and rental homes were highlighted.
Their advice for anyone who wants to move to another country is doing your research, be prepared and be social and establish friendships and a support network

*A CALL TO ACTION* (email previously sent)
Happy Monday Rotarians,

I'd like to start by thanking all of you who supported Ahmed, Dalal and his family prior to the holiday's when I circulated a list of needs the team needs to help get them set-up when they arrive. Many of you were very generous. Thank you!

We are still looking to secure the items in the list below for their home. If you have any of these items laying around and perhaps have added de-cluttering to your new year's resolutions list, Barb or I are happy to pick these up from you.

Please email myself or Barb to arrange or for any questions you may have.

Any support is so appreciated. Thank you all in advance!
Brandi.

Dear District 7010 Rotarians and Rotaractors

Happy New Year.  We sincerely hope you had a safe and healthy holiday season.  As we begin 2022 we are reminded of the importance of the work of Rotary and the difference we make in our communities.

Your work at the club level is invaluable.  Your service would be equally valuable at the district level.  There is an exciting opportunity to work with our clubs to enhance their impact through purposeful planning.  We are currently looking for a Rotarian or Rotaractor to chair the Club Strategic Planning Committee.  This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know Rotarians across our district, learn about their work and support them in this important process.

The Club Strategic Planning chair will work directly with the Training Director Lise Dutrisac.  It is a three year term effective immediately.  A description of the role is attached.

For more information about the role please contact Lise Dutrisac (lisedg20152016@gmail.com).  If you are interested in the opportunities, please contact me at susanmdavidson77@gmail.com or 705 872 8991 by January 17th)

Yours in Rotary
