At last week's meeting, Stewart Dunn a senior geologist at Vale and his wife Allison, also a geologist answered questions about their experience moving their family from Australia to Sudbury for work. Stewart and Allison shared both the positive and challenging aspects of this move which included Sudbury being very welcoming and friendly, enjoying the variation and the outdoor activities that come with the 4 seasons, and the lack of poisonous spiders and snakes. The limitations in respect to healthcare, childcare and rental homes were highlighted. Their advice for anyone who wants to move to another country is doing your research, be prepared and be social and establish friendships and a support network |
