Wednesday Night Talk Show Nov 3 - Attract New Members with Purposeful Attraction Events

imageAll of our clubs are working hard to attract new members. But are our efforts paying off? Maybe it is time to look at what works and what doesn’t work when it comes to attraction.
Join us on Wednesday November 3rd when we have a very impressive line up of speakers, including Louisa Horne who spoke recently at our District Conference, who will share with you some tried and true techniques that will help you grow your club. This is a don’t miss event.

imageIndigenous Focus Project - Water First Update

I am thrilled to announce that our District Water First project was the recipient of a $10,000 donation from a Sudbury radio contest organized by Rotarian Mick Weaver and the Stingray radio stations in September. Thanks to all of our members who participated by going on-line to vote for our project.

Also, thanks to the support of the Sudbury’s Rotarians Gerry and Geoffrey Lougheed their Lougheed Foundation has matched with an additional $10,000 donation. These donations bring our total amount received to $48,000 of our $125,000 goal. Thanks to our Sudbury Sunrisers club and all other clubs in the District who have supported this worthwhile project.

What is a Rotary Foundation Bequest Society Member?

imageThose who have made commitments for future gifts of $10,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation are invited to join the Bequest Society. A bequest gift of at least $10,000 in your name to The Rotary Foundation creates a legacy of your generosity and compassion as you are helping many people live better lives around the world. “As a global network that strives to build a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change, Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socio-economic status, culture, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Rotary will cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture in which people from underrepresented groups have greater opportunities to participate as members and leaders.”
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
Passed by the Rotary International Board of Directors, January 2019
Our DEI Commitment
At Rotary, we understand that cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture is essential to realizing our vision of a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change.
We value diversity and celebrate the contributions of people of all backgrounds, across age, ethnicity, race, color, disability, neurotype, faith, religion, socioeconomic status, culture, marital status, languages spoken, sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity as well as differences in ideas, thoughts, values, and beliefs.
Recognizing that individuals from certain groups have historically experienced barriers to membership, participation, and leadership, we commit to advancing equity in all aspects of Rotary, including in our community partnerships, so that each person has access to the resources, networks, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.
We believe that all people have visible and invisible qualities that inherently make them unique. We will create an inclusive culture where each person feels like they are valued and belong.
In line with our value of integrity, we are committed to being transparent about where we are in our DEI journey as an organization and to continuing to learn and do better.
