I wanted to share a few announcements with the group.
1. As members, we are aware in the province of Ontario as of Sept 22nd vaccine proof will be required for indoor dining and meeting spaces. This will include meetings at the Northbury and any other meeting in a formal space (ie outdoor events would be the only exclusion). The Northbury has informed me they will be collecting this information at the door. Be prepared to present proof of vaccination with photo ID or a signed medical exemption upon entry. We will be continuing to offer Zoom for any members who are not comfortable with this or in person attendance in general.
2. Vive le Vin is in full swing. We have found a donation of a wine fridge. Please begin bringing wine into meetings to fill the said fridge. We are also looking for gift cards to add to the boxes as give aways.
3. Doyle Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, is celebrating 100 years in Sudbury. To celebrate their 100th birthday, they’re donating $100,000 to various local charities. And thanks to the support of our club, who pitched our project to the funder, we are entered into the online voting for the month of September.
We are competing against 2 other organizations, and the one with the most votes as of 12:00 am on October 1st gets the $10,000.
So please participate by voting on the link for EACH radio station and this will count as 2 votes. AND you can vote from each device!
At last week's meeting, past president Brian Smith gave Rotarians a tour of Rotary Park, including the new butterfly mural and garden and peace posts that adorn the park.
Rotary Park is a joint legacy initiative between the two Sudbury Rotary Clubs that originated in 1998.
Rotary Park is a 3.1 mile trail that starts off Beatrice Cres. near Adanac Ski Hill.
