At our last meeting our guest speaker was Ann Salter. Ann is the Executive Director for the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation. This organization was incorporated in 1976. Ann providers with an overview of the Foundation’s history and of its flag ship “Send-A-Kid-To-Camp” program. She also provided an overview of the Bursary program which started in 2003 to support post secondary education for individuals who were Crown Wards of the Children’s Aid Society and it’s new Play Program for families who cannot afford to enroll their children in sport or recreation activities. Ann was presented with a cheque for 10K to support the Play Program from proceeds raised by Rotary Sunrisers from our inaugural Porketta Bingo held in March of this year. Sunrisers were also entertained by our Sergeant At Arms Matt Bonin and Giorgio. What happens at Rotary stays at Rotary lol.
