At our February 9th meeting, Dr. Sarita Verma was our guest speaker. Dr. Verma is the Dean, President and CEO of the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University which is mandated both to educate doctors and to contribute to care in Northern Ontario’s urban, rural and remote communities. Dr. Verma provided an overview of the mission and vision of the university which provides training to doctors in the north, by the north for the north and the role of and benefits to the community of successful recruitment and retention of doctors.
