After discussion with the executive and the current COVID situation in Sudbury, we have made the decision to cancel the in person holiday gathering on Dec 15th.
In lieu, we will be having a holiday message Dec 16th via ZOOM. This will be done with the regular zoom link.
We will be inviting Rotarians to share holiday traditions to learn a broader perspective of how we each spend the holiday season,
I'm sure some Christmas entertainment with Cathy Coe and a holiday message with Amanda Robichaud.
I look forward to seeing everyone within our socially distanced confines!
Yours in Rotary,
Shannon Kenrick-Rochon

Barb is in dire need for people to help on Thursday December 9th at Chris’ Independent from 3pm – 6 pm.
This is our busiest day at the grocery store to sell the most food donation bags. We still need at least 3 more people to make this day a success.
If you can't make it for 3 pm then 4- 6 would be sufficient to cover the busiest part. Bring a friend or family.
The more people, the more bags we sell and we need to reach that magic number so that Day Construction will match our $31,000
At last week’s meeting, our guest speaker was Brendon Holden. Brendon works as the Project Coordinator for the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee.
Brendon provided Rotary Sunrisers with an overview of his background in wilderness and wildlife conservation and of the work of the Junction Creek Stewardship Committee.
The committee is a not-for-profit organization established in 2008 to restore and maintain the health of the Junction Creek ecosystem.
With over 19 years of active restoration, research, education and awareness, the committee has worked with the community to revive Junction Creek, which has included the removal of over 80,000 kg of garbage from the stream and shorelines.
Junction Creek is an important urban waterway in Greater Sudbury which connects communities and provides a unique natural asset.
The creek is 52 kilometers in length, is part of 9 out of 11 Wards, and runs under the downtown core through the heart of the City.
Thank you for your continued service to Rotary and to your communities. It would be very difficult to picture a world without Rotary - especially in these challenging times.
Your leadership and service at the club level is critical.
We invite you to join the district leadership team.
The sole purpose of the team is to provide support and resources to the clubs in 7010 so they may meet their goals and continue to provide for the committees they serve.
In the next while we will be inviting interest to serve at district in different capacities. Being part of the district team provides the opportunity to develop more friendships, learn more about Rotary and to further share your experience and expertise. Over the next few weeks we will be sending out invitations to assume various positions, beginning the 2022 - 23 Rotary year.
In the meantime, we are looking for a Rotarian or Rotaractor to fill the New Generations Director effective immediately until June 2025. The New Generations Director works with Youth Exchange, RYLA, Rotaract and Interact to support our youth programs - our future. A brief description is attached. There is also additional information on the 7010 website about our youth programs.
Please send your expression of interest and a brief outline of your experiences and expertise to Susan Davidson susanmdavidson77@gmail.com Dec 31, 2021.
